My favorite season is Colorado is in September when fall is slowly changing to winter. The aspens are super yellow and lively and the mountain tops are covered in snow. It’s the perfect contrast of light and dark and is a gorgeous time of year.
So you can only imagine my eyes when I pulled up for Krissi and Bens gorgeous wedding at Upper Schmid Ranch. It’s the perfect vibe of rustic beautiful woods and absolutely stunning Mountain View’s. And Krissi and Ben knew how to make it even that much better. A mobile bar, karaoke, multiple doggie guest, Polaroid photo booth, and a cupcake station.
It was certainly a day to remember and a wedding I absolutely loved being apart of.
Enjoy!

Two thirds of Jenny and Weston’s relationship has been long distance. Jenny had an amazing opportunity to help others in need in Indonesia and moved there shortly after they started dating. And after many phone calls, face times, a 13 hour time difference, thousands of miles of distance and 14 months of being away from each other, they reunited at the Denver airport and spent 5 days in the Rocky Mountains together. On the Fifth day, Weston Proposed. It’s only fitting that their storybook love story was greeted by a storybook sunset on a secluded beach on their wedding day.
They were surrounded by friends and family on a windy day at the beach. As the sunset they said I do and shared a beautiful first kiss amongst their tearful guests. Following their ceremony we had an amazing sunset on a secluded beach where we frolicked around in the sand and salt.
Entering their reception under twinkle lights and ending it with a choreographed dance through sparklers was a wonderful start and end to the day. You can tell by all the smiles and happy tears that these two were truly loved not only by each other but by everyone
An absolutely beautiful place for two incredibly beautiful people. This wedding will always have an important place in my heart because it is the first wedding I photographed after moving to Colorado full time. And I feel so lucky to have spent it with Braeden and Ryan.
You would think a wedding on a Monday would be pretty mellow, not with this crowd! On a sunny summer day in CB Braeden and Ryan got ready on the river with close friends. We had a mini exploration of Almont where we joked around and broke out in small dance moves :). They were married in a painting, with their sweet dogs by their side and an emotional family watching, they said I do with a backdrop of snow capped mountains and bright green summer foliage all around. After their tearful and beautiful vows we frolicked in the valley for a few photos and entered their reception in full dance with the bridal party. The laughter and happy tears made for such an emotionally gorgeous wedding.
It was honestly one of the best Mondays! Check out all the love below! Enjoy!
Oh sweet Baby Nora. All of my newborn sessions this year were with girls. Which is an awesome change because I always have years with only boys! I usually photograph around a dozen newborn sessions a year. And they are almost always with clients I have photographed before hand that trust and understand how I work. That is important to me because there is sometimes a lot of stress and definitely tons of time put into newborn sessions. So having a built relationship there with the Mother and Father is pretty huge. Especially because I showed up to this session, immediately started scanning their room and home for places to shoot. And once I found one, was slightly landscaping and moving around pine needles on the side of their home for 10 minutes to create this first photo. But, they knew what they were getting into. For their other child, I had them meet me at sunrise and put him in a baby hammock on the beach.
I get weird at shoots sometimes, I can’t help it. The creativity flows so perfectly if you just do what is in your head and not worry about what others think. And my clients have always loved it.
Newborn session, to me, carry a lot of nostalgia. The first “photo Job” I had before my business, was running a newborn studio in a maternity ward photographing 1-2 day old babies. It taught me a lot about patience and flexibility in photographing people and babies (who run the shoot). Because these sessions are so close to my heart and remind me of where I started, I tend to put a lot of time into them. The basket Nora is sleeping in is made of real flowers and greenery (that I foraged) and took me roughly 2 hours to create. Even though a good majority of my business is photographing weddings, these newborn sessions once a month are great to spark creativity. They give me time to create in a new way, while also incorporating what I already know.
So here is Baby Nora (and her awesome family). My last newborn session of 2016.
I love a couple that drinks Champagne straight from the bottle, and one who makes you feel like family. I love a couple who kisses before you even ask them to because they just can’t help themselves. I love a couple that smiles all day even if it rained out there beach wedding.
Who is this magical couple? Sam and Phil!
I cannot express the happiness I had photographing and editing this day. You would think there would be a couple downers because this beach wedding was completely rained out, but oh no! So many, many smiles and laughs, and forehead kisses (my favorite). I just loved all the love these two had and am so excited I was apart of there day. Check out all the laughter and love below. Enjoy!

Kayla and Cory have that infectious, happy, beautiful kind of love. And their smiles show it. They were such a fun couple to photograph. We would have these beautiful moments with golden sunlight and then they would start making goofy faces and joking around with each other. I love how easy it was to tell how great of friends and perfect they are together.
We had an eventful day that included some of Cory’s homemade beer, home cooked food from Kayla’s family, songs sang at the reception by friends, an incredibly colorful sunset and an even more dramatic evening filled with lots of Kayla’s dad dancing and getting the party started. It was wonderful to spend the day with such loving and absolutely fun people. Check out all of their wedding below.
Enjoy!

An Australian Wedding in Napa Valley California with the liveliest group of 7 people I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy a leap day with. A gorgeous destination wedding timed perfectly with the mustard seeds blooming to give us this beautiful yellow color right at sunset. They took a few sips of wine during their vows, said I do, and then the entire wedding (of 7 people) hoped in my giant suv and took an adventure around the Napa Valley vineyards. Check out all the beauty below..
Enjoy! KiKi
Photographing these two was so fun that it instantly put more excitement towards photographing their wedding day. This session was all smiles and a little bit of playing around with the drift wood….but waking up to sunrise with these two was definitely not a bad way to start your morning. Enjoy their joyful sunrise session below….
Jenny + Brad must have heard me say “It is just so perfect out” about 1,000 times during their engagement session. Between having the Gardens at sunset to ourselves and catching the goldenest of golden hours. And then ending it with the dramatic rocky beach at sunset with even more seclusion to ourselves… It was a match made in heaven, just like the two of them (you see what I did there?). Check out the lovely sunset engagement session below. Enjoy!
