So excited to get my best of 2018 up! Absolutely none of this blog post would be possible with out the many people that trusted KiKi Creates to photograph such amazing days in their life. From their friends and family at their weddings, to their pups at their engagement shoots, to all the amazing families I met. I could not put together such an amazing year without every single one of them. So if you’re reading, thank you. Thank you for continuing to enrich my life and my love for photography. I don’t know where I would be without it.
I believe in life, although an unfortunate truth, the negative moments can be easy to fixate on. Whether it be personal or professional, we all of our ups and downs varying in emotion and degree. The beauty in photography, is that most of us choose to capture and document the happy and exciting moments. And I have always believed living your life through photos can give you a more realistic approach to what your day to day, small moments add up to. It can sometimes shed much needed light on how happy your life actually is. The past two days of culling through over 50,000 images and over 100 shoots has done just that for me.
2018 held my first full year of managing two different locations and three different businesses. I spent this year focusing more on the quality of my work on the coasts of Florida and the many valley’s and mountain ranges in Colorado. I met not only one, but two little girls I get to call my niece. I got to know my home state and my current state I call home much better and more beautifully. I had the chance to photograph under waterfalls, through tropical storms on the beach, in negative weather where the snow was falling and the fall colors of colorado that have me so entranced every year. I met as many animals as I did people and was introduced to new customs and traditions. Every year with new businesses, clients and now locations I gain more respect for the job and responsibilities I have. I become more indebted to the people that allow me to photograph moments that are so important to them and in turn shape importance for me. Thank you for an amazing 2018!
Enjoy! KIKi
So without further ado.. let me allow my spirit bride (Katie) to get us started with my most memorable moments of 2018…
We traveled to some pretty scenic places last year.
And in so many different weather conditions..
We also photographed more than just humans..
But when we do.. I am usually making them giggle..
We traveled in style and in so many different ways..
Also, we may have kicked back a few adult beverages..
And created some new poses..
And danced…A LOT..
The amount of color 2018 held was pretty magical..
All of the families and different people we met made it pretty colorful too 🙂
Thank you for sharing your sweetest memories, traditions and moments with me..
And going along with some of my crazy aerial ideas 🙂
And giving me serious squad goal envy..
And showing me what it means to be an independent, strong woman..
But mostly for reminding me what an amazing year and amazing life I have. A life filled with capturing people at their happiest times. And having some that start as strangers, become close friends. Happy New Year 🙂 -KiKi
Now I am going to take a nap because this is the longest blog post ever!
I got to spend a whole weekend with these two! From the rehearsal dinner to the wedding to this awesome day after session. Elizabeth and Paul met me at Emerald Lake in CB and we romped around in their wedding attire. I may or may not have gotten them a bit muddy, but we still had such an amazing time with these adventurous two! Check out our awesome day after session below!
Enjoy!

A couple months ago I was contacted to put together a mini styled shoot. Heather, at Industry Hair Salon was interested in doing a shoot with the cattlemens queen. It embraced all those mountain, Colorado vibes and even included a dressing room in a barn, a beautiful horse with braids and the ever so graceful Cattlemens Queen. She is apart of the sixth generation of Spanns to live in the Gunnison Valley. And her family ranch is a beautiful property to walk around. Check out our moody sunset with these two!
Enjoy!

Let me start by saying, these two are a kick ass couple! They’ve lived in my two favorite places, Hawaii and Colorado. Courtney is a gorgeous read head. They have an adorable dog, in which they put a giant bow tie on. And to top it off, they hiked around on their wedding day even though Courtney was sportin’ a broken foot and a baby bump. It was just one of those days where I felt like I was hanging out with my friends all day. Even though we had just met. 🙂
The wildflowers were going off for their beautiful summer wedding at the Mountain Wedding Garden in CB. With a flower crown on and their pup in the back seat, we ventured around Gothic for some sweet portraits. It was a perfectly beautiful day! They have since moved back to Hawaii and are expecting their baby soon! They are going to be some seriously adventurous, fun loving parents. Congrats you two!

Ali & Aaron’s wedding was truly a labor of love. Their friends and family came together to put on a loving and beautiful spring wedding. I was literally the only vendor there that was not a close friend or related to them. Her mother made her absolutely gorgeous bouquet, her aunt made her vintage looking, adorable cake, friends helped with hair and makeup. A close friend played acoustic guitar during the reception and another officiated the ceremony. The entire wedding even stayed on the property together, sharing a private hot springs and horse ranch all to themselves.
The details of the day were gorgeous, but the most amazing thing was my interaction with Ali and Aaron. I had met them for the first time an hour before their ceremony. Their warmth and overall excitement was contagious. And made me, the only “vendor” of the day, feel like family. They were genuinely kind and spiritual people. During their ceremony they asked their guests to remove their shoes with them. Saying that it would connect them not only to the earth around them but to each other, on a day that was so important and special. After their ceremony, family pictures were filled with a bunch of jokes and goofy poses. Their reception was filled with several speeches from close family and friends on how much they cherish and adore Ali & Aaron, how meant to be they were. The love from their guests was almost never ending and incredibly sweet to hear and be apart of. The cherry on the Sunday is that the song they danced to, one I have never heard at a wedding before, was always one I had dreamt of dancing to on my wedding day. They are two seriously awesome people and I feel so special to be the one to capture such a wonderful day.
Enjoy

A sweet and moody one year session for Schanell and Sam’s one year anniversary. Check out our adventure out Slate River in Crested Butte!
Hearing Alyssa and Drew’s story as high school sweethearts reminds me of a real life version of a romantic movie from the 1990’s. It’s adorable and sweet and their bold and beautiful wedding day did everything to compliment it.
The rustic lodge they were married in was decorated with richly colored glasses and greenery. Medieval candelabras and wooden accents were scattered to create a warm and inviting feel. Their heartfelt speeches filled the cozy room as some people warned next to the brick fireplace huddled together.
On top of the gorgeous details, nothing makes me smile more than a wedding with doggie guests. Alyssa and Drew started their day with a first look at a frozen lake with their pup. The three of them came together as a family and were married in front of a backdrop of snow capped mountains. The night ended with a golden sunset walk through the woods. It was such a gorgeous day. Enjoy!
Nothing beats a nice walk in the woods with your pup and your love! Especially when you have it all to yourself and you manage to balance an engagement ring on your pups nose 🙂 As it starts to warm up here in CB I wanted to share my last snowy shoot of the season. Check out Kristin and Andrew (and Bella) below! Enjoy!
